Heritage Fund Graduate Traineeship Programme  

​The Windsor Fellowship in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund are offering recent graduates the opportunity to experience working in a UK wide, dynamic and client-oriented investment environment.

 

This 12 month internship programme provides a great way to gain paid work experience, employability support and guidance to individuals from communities that are currently underrepresented in the Heritage Fund’s workforce. The programme is designed to equip interns with the skills and knowledge necessary to apply for full-time positions in the Heritage Fund or the related sector on completion of the programme.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be from a Black or Asian and minority ethnic background

  • A recent graduate from an undergraduate or post-graduate course (max 3 years) 

  • Have no restrictions on living/working in the UK

  • Be able to commit to all aspects of the programme

  • Be able to work in the cities offering an internship position (see below for further information)

The Traineeship includes:

 

  • The provision of six seminars involving talks/insight seminars that focus on the development of key skills and competencies

  • Your choice of voluntary work focussed on skill development and community engagement, in the context of active citizenship

  • Continuous support from an allocated Development Mentor

  • Networking opportunities

  • A paid one year internship

 

Traineeship
  • ​12 months duration, during which time you will undertake separate modules of work (“assignments”) across various departments.

  • Opportunities exist in HR, Finance, Legal and Governance, Investment Management (support for funding and grant awards), Engagement Management (customer and community support and outreach) and more.

  • Normally two assignment rotations, each six months duration.

  • Longer assignments may be possible by mutual agreement.

  • During each assignment you will get involved in supporting the delivery of key services but you will also be asked to undertake a management project.

  • Salary: £23,230 - £27,270 per annum (+ £3,333 London based posts)

  • Any National Lottery Heritage Fund UK site (Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Exeter, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle).

Next steps 

  • Applications have now closed for the 2022 cycle 

  • First stage interviews with the Windsor Fellowship will take place virtually in November 2021.

  • Final stage interviews will take place with the Heritage Fund between November and December 2021.

  • Offers to be communicated by December 2021. 

  • Start dates will be early February 2022.
